It's Been a While...., Currently, Volcanoes, and Some Pack! Giveaway

It's been a while teacher friends and I promise it won't happen again! I have been SUPER BUSY this past month buying a camper and a house! Yes, you read that right a camper and a house! At first it was just the camper and not even one day after we wrote a check for the camper but a house in the perfect location came on the market and we jumped on it! I am still super busy because we are hoping to close on the house June 1st and I am trying to pack up our house we live in now and declutter it so that we can sell it. I've been packing one or two boxes a day and then taking them to my mother's and my mother-in-law's. So much fun, let me just tell you. :)

On to "teacher stuff"......

I have linked up again with Farley at Oh'Boy 4th Grade for this month's Currently. Here is my Currently:
I love the idea of the pageant title. I thought that mine was fitting for both teachers and moms, because let's face it ladies- when it comes to taking care of things we are expected to do it all AND look good while doing it. I know that all of you can handle it though. :)

Every year the 4th graders at my school make a volcano for science and get to bring it to school to erupt it. This year I had lots of great volcanoes that were made of some really unique items. One little girl's dad lays tile for a living, so her volcano was made out of concrete and tile grout. She looked so pitiful carrying that thing down the hallway! Another one made their volcano out of cake! It looked really neat. Here are some pictures of the volcanoes (I couldn't post pictures of all of them erupting because the kids were in them, although I did get a close up of one.)

I have also been working on a Writing and Literacy Pack to go along with E.B. White's classic Charlotte's Web. I had planned on having it ready in April for the 60th anniversary of the book, but as you can see that didn't happen. Then, I planned on having it ready for the big TPT sale, but yet again, I have fallen behind. So, as a way to make up for my tardiness, I am going to give away a pack to the first 3 people to comment on this post, AND I am going to have the pack for 20% off on my TPT store for tomorrow and Friday ONLY. I am really proud of this pack. It is crammed full of writing prompts and graphic organizers that can be used with the book. Go check it out on my TPT store and get your copy while it is on sale!

The clip art in this pack came from MelonHeadz, and can I say that it is amazing? The borders are from JW Illustrations, and I just love them! Her stuff is so cute. :)

I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

It is FINALLY here! SPRING BREAK! Can I get a Whoop Whoop??!! =)

I honestly did not think that I would make, but yes it is true- Spring Break has arrived! Nine wonderful days to spend with my baby girl relaxing and playing. ahhh! I already fill SOOO much better than I did yesterday afternoon. I have been so stressed trying to make sure that my kids are ready for the BIG test. I have finally decided (today) that either they are going to know it or they are not and at this point in the game their isn't much I can do. I have prepared them as much as I possibly can. Yes, we will still review when we get back from Spring Break the few days we have before the test, but as for me worrying and stressing- that is over. =)   (I hope!)

Okay, now for some fun stuff.....

a BIG THANKS goes out to Heather from Beg, Borrow, and Teach! for nominating me for the Lovely Blog Award. I have received this award in the past, but it is so nice for someone to see fit to give it to me again. It puts a big smile on my face, so for that THANKS!

Also, Ladybug's Teacher Files is having a Linky Party for Anchor Charts! I have decided to link up and I hope you will too. =) Below are some pictures of some of the anchor charts that are currently hanging in my classroom. Some I have come up with myself and others are Pinterest finds.

As part of our "shapes" discussion this week, we  made these Quadrilateral Flip Books. We folded a sheet of cardstock paper in half (hamburger style), wrote quadrilaterals along the fold, wrote the five different types of quadrilaterals on the front (spacing between each), cut the front flap between each word, and wrote the definition behind each flap. We then used our flip books to name different quadrilaterals using all names possible. It seemed to work really well.

I also have pictures of some of the best leprechaun traps that my kids came up with. Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. My camera didn't want to focus for some reason.

I hope you all have a great weekend! If you get a chance, you can check out my TPT store. I added a new grammar pack and there is my Spring Fun Pack that has a very cute bunny bag craft (if I do say so myself!).

If you aren't already a follower of my store (or blog), I would love for you to start! =)

Happy Weekend and Spring Break!
